Planned Giving

Smarter Ways To Give

Planned gifts offer you smart and creative ways to support Wedgwood, often while benefiting your family, too.

By understanding the available options, you can multiply the results of your generosity in ways that are simple, flexible, cost effective, and powerful.

Gifts in A Will

By including charitable giving in your will, you model to your loved ones a legacy of generosity. You also help ensure Wedgwood continues to make a difference well beyond your lifetime

Gifts From Your IRA

Individuals ages 70 1/2 and older can make a sizable gift from an individual retirement account (IRA) to Wedgwood and receive significant tax benefits in return.

Gifts That Pay You Income

Lifetime income gifts are wonderful solutions for those who wish to give in a substantial way but are concerned about having enough retirement income. You can give cash or other property and receive a steady income for the rest of your life. The remainder will benefit Wedgwood.

Giving Stock, Real Estate, or Other Assets

You may be able to increase your potential impact – and reduce your taxes – by giving non-cash assets.

Examples of non-cash assets:

  • Stock or marketable securities
  • Real estate
  • Business interests
  • Farm commodities
  • Tangible personal property

Wedgwood Foundation

To help Wedgwood Christian Services build a lasting base of future support, the Wedgwood Foundation was established in 1990 as a separate legal entity to encourage, receive, and manage gifts and bequests of cash, securities, property, and life insurance policies. In addition, the Foundation issues income-generating Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts. All of the charitable opportunities are for the sole benefit of Wedgwood Christian Services thus ensuring charitable gift deductions to donors. By making a planned gift to the Wedgwood Foundation, donors will help vulnerable children and families well beyond their lifetime.

Gifts to the Foundation are permanently held in trust and carefully invested. Since 1990, approximately $3,200,000 has been dispersed to Wedgwood, helping to provide the life-changing, 100% donor-funded Transforming Services. Because the principal is carefully invested for growth, and only income earnings from these investments – never the principal – are used, a gift to the Foundation truly is a gift that keeps giving. In this way, an individual’s resources can benefit children and families in need for years to come. A legacy gift to the Wedgwood Foundation is a generous means to be a good steward of the assets God has entrusted to you.

Legacy Society

The Wedgwood Foundation Legacy Society is open to anyone who is passionate about helping the vulnerable children, adults and families served by Wedgwood Christian Services now and in the future, and has informed us of their commitment to do this through an estate gift.

Members of the Wedgwood Foundation Legacy Society are invited to attend an annual reception held in their honor as a means to express our thanks. Members are also offered opportunities to see our work first hand, thus enabling them to see how gifts given in the future will help children and families in our community find hope and healing, now, and for years to come.

We do not ask for the value of your planned gift, as that is a personal matter, we simply ask to know that you have made a decision and commitment to help transform lives by including Wedgwood in your will or estate plan.
