Dear Friends, I love watching the trees and flowers blossom with new growth each spring — it’s a beautiful reminder of God’s hope and healing.
At Wedgwood Christian Services, we are committed to growth and helping the child, teens, adults, and families who rely on our care blossom into who God created them to be. Every person that walks through our doors is a child of God who has great potential that needs nurturing care and support.
I recently heard an incredible example of this life-changing hope that I would like to share with you.
‘Wyatt’, a young teen, experienced an immense trauma. The combination of this traumatic event, the impact it had on his developing brain, and the inability to process and and cope in healthy way — culminated in destructive behavior that made it necessary for ‘Wyatt’ to come to Wedgwood for specialized Residential Treatment.
Not too long ago he sent a thank you letter to the staff who cared for him. Because of the love and dedication he saw day after day from the staff, he is certain Wedgwood is truly brightening kids’ futures.
In his message to our Residential Staff, ‘Wyatt’ said (and this brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it):
“I am scared to think about where I would be today if I had not gotten the help I did from Wedgwood.”
Today this young man is thriving in high school. He is working hard to prepare for medical school. Most recently he received an invitation to attend a national leadership program, giving him invaluable training and skills development, along with college credits.
Wyatt ended his note with “Thank you for getting me on the right track.”
Isn’t that just beautiful?
When you support Wedgwood, you are stepping into a young person’s life and helping them heal from traumatic events that have altered their mental and behavioral wellbeing. You are supporting staff who provide unwavering care and vital therapeutic services. You are helping to get each teen “on the right track” so they can become all that God has planned for them — creating brighter futures for each child, their families, and our community.
In Christ,
