Wedgwood Appoints New Board Members

Wedgwood Christian Services has appointed new members to the Executive Board of Directors, Wedgwood Foundation Board of Directors, and Wedgwood’s NextGen Board.

Wedgwood Executive Board of Directors

The Executive Board of Directors, founded alongside the agency in 1960, works collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer to establish and implement an organizational strategic vision that supports Wedgwood’s mission of extending God’s love to youth, adults, and families through professional counseling and educational services. The board is comprised of around 20 members from a variety of backgrounds. Members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of 3 terms.

Wedgwood is honored to welcome Vicky Ludema, Dr. Fredric Reyalts, and Jeff Tuori to the Board of Directors.

Vicky Ludema recently retired as Managing Director at Crowe, LLP. She serves on the Van Andel Institute Board of Governors and Hope on the Hill Planning Committee, World Affairs Council Board and Nominations & Board Engagement Committee, and as a Mentor for the Calvin University Women’s Business Network. She has previously served on Wedgwood’s successful Faith In Our Future Capital Campaign Cabinet

Dr. Fredric Reyalts is the Medical Director for Innovation and Senior Medical Director for Strategy for Mercy Health Physician Partners. He currently serves as Credentialing Committee Chair for Mercy Health Saint Mary’s and is a member of the medical executive committee for the hospital, as chair of the Global Missions Program for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. He has also served on the Medical Group Board of Directors, Healthy Kent 2020 Board of Directors, and chaired two capital campaigns for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Jeff Tuori is the Vice President/Controller at Alticor Inc. He has been with Amway/Alticor for 21 years and held various positions in the Finance Division. Previous roles were with Gantos Inc. and Price Waterhouse. He is currently serving as a trustee at Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Forest Hills Public Schools Foundation and has previously served as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary for the Forest Hills Public Schools Foundation, and as Treasurer at Grace Episcopal Church.

Wedgwood Foundation Board

The Wedgwood Foundation was established in 1990 as a separate legal entity to encourage, receive, and manage gifts and bequests of cash, securities, property, and life insurance policies. In addition, the Foundation issues income-generating Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts. All of the charitable opportunities are for the sole benefit of Wedgwood Christian Services thus ensuring charitable gift deductions to donors. Members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of 3 terms.

The Wedgwood Foundation is honored to welcome Bill Bruinsma to the Board of Directors.

Bill Bruinsma is a First Vice-President of Middle Market Lending at Chemical Bank – a Division of TCF National Bank. He is currently serving as Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Kent County Board Chair, and has previously served on the Finance & Personnel Committee and as an Elder & Deacon at Alger Park CRC.

Wedgwood’s NextGen Board

The NextGen Board is a group of young rising community leaders who are dedicated to advancing the mission of Wedgwood Christian Services by increasing awareness of the organization within their circles of influence, making a positive impact in the lives of Wedgwood clients, supporting agency events, and providing feedback on strategic planning for NextGen initiatives. Members serve 3-year terms, with a maximum of 3 terms.

Wedgwood is honored to welcome Alexa Kramer (City of Grand Rapids), Chris Sain Jr. (Grand Rapids Community College), Jaunetta Holman (Nobel Polymers), Kyle Mol (Mercantile Bank), Matthew Baxter (The Wedge), and Stephanie Gonda (Projects of Purpose) to the NextGen Board.
