Gathered Book Club

A Space to Slow Down & Connect

In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, our Gathered Book Club is an invitation to pause and be present. This monthly, virtual gathering creates space for meaningful conversations, shared reflection, and genuine connection. Whether you’re new to Wedgwood or already familiar with our work, this is a place where relationships come first. Together, we’ll read, reflect, and grow in community.

Frequency: Once a month – on the second Monday of each month. First meeting is on June 9th.
Where: Virtual
Who: Everyone is welcome! We just ask you to be over 18!

Gathered Values

This book club is built on the values that guide Wedgwood’s work every day: integrity, diversity, excellence, and compassion.

This will be a welcoming space where every participant feels respected, heard, and valued. Conversations will be aimed to be thoughtful, curious, and centered on personal growth and connection.

To protect that environment, political discussions will be intentionally kept out of the group so we can focus on each individual book and what brings us together.

*please note that while Wedgwood Christian Services offers a variety of therapy services, this group is not a therapy class. It is simply meant to be a community where we can connect with each other!*

Starting with 'Reconnected' by Carlos Whittaker

Reconnected tells the story of best-selling author Carlos Whittaker’s seven-week, screen-free experiment, spent with Monks and Amish farmers and the lost art of being human.

Through this journey, Carlos explores how constant screen use impacts our relationships, mental health, and sense of belonging. Blending personal storytelling with practical insight, the book offers hope for anyone longing for deeper, more meaningful connection in an always-online world.
