Substance Abuse Treatment
Our substance abuse services provide an atmosphere of support for individuals to examine the results of their substance use. The primary goal is to help individuals take the next step in their recovery. Motivational interviewing is a major component in earlier stages of treatment. Later stages of treatment focus on creating a new lifestyle, coping with triggers and urges, and maintaining a strong commitment to recovery.
Service Packages vary by county. For more information or to make a referral in Allegan, Kent, Muskegon or Ottawa county, contact Anthony Muller at 616-831-5655. For Montcalm County residents, please call 616-255-6334.
Adolescent Substance Abuse Counseling
Wedgwood specializes in adolescent substance abuse treatment. We have the largest continuum of adolescent substance abuse treatment in Michigan and treat more adolescents than any other organization in the state.
Adult Substance Abuse Counseling
Adults who are struggling with substance use disorders often have a long history of use and a pattern of coping with difficult experiences through substance use. Treatment focuses on creating a trusting relationship to support developing insight into patterns of use and learning healthy alternative ways of coping.
Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for youth with moderate to significant substance use struggles. IOP is for youth who have used substances frequently, are associating with peers who use substances, and/or often have complicating emotional and behavioral problems. They have multiple, significant symptoms that need more than weekly individual counseling. This program has won an award for being the innovative program of the year for the State of Michigan.
Residential Substance Abuse Services
Residential Substance Abuse Services are available for individuals who are experiencing severe symptoms from their use and need the stability of a residential facility. These services may be appropriate for individuals who have tried intensive community-based therapy but have continued significant use of substances, along with exhibiting emotional and/or behavioral concerns.
