Education

Wedgwood provides support to three schools in West Michigan: Hope Academy of West Michigan, Lighthouse Academy, Lighthouse Academy – North Campus.

Lighthouse Academy (LA) was established by Wedgwood in 2005 and become a charter school authorized by Ferris State University in 2008. The school provides expelled and students at-risk of dropping out a crucial opportunity to complete their education. This on-campus charter school also serves Wedgwood’s residential clients. In the fall of 2012, Lighthouse Academy opened their second campus, serving students on the Northeastern side of Grand Rapids.

Hope Academy of West Michigan (HA) is a sister school to Lighthouse Academy, opened in fall 2011 and is a general charter school serving Preschool–12th grade students in the Garfield Park/Burton Heights neighborhoods of inner-city Grand Rapids. Hope Academy of West Michigan offers students at-risk of dropping out a renewed hope for success in school through a positive learning experience and holistic teaching approach.
