Our Services: Transforming
Educational Support

Lighthouse Academy, a unique school for expelled and
educationally at risk students, was started by Wedgwood in 2005
with 12 students, and was the first school of its kind to effectively
address the personal and societal costs of school expulsion. In 2008, it became a charter school authorized by Ferris State University, and enrollment grew to 200 students.

Lighthouse - A School Of Second Chances

Teaching and guiding the next generation is an obligation we all share and an investment that benefits us all. Wedgwood is grateful for the opportunity to offer the support and expertise of Lighthouse Academy to more young people who need it more than ever before.

  • Optional spiritual life activities through Young Life
  • Job Skills Coaching and Career Transition Coordination
  • Implementing “Infusionomics” into all classes to teach financial literacy and self-sufficiency
  • New curriculum for providing education to Wedgwood’s residential clients
  • Enhanced Wellness and Physical Education services
