All of Wedgwood's 10 residential programs include 24-hour care and individualized professional treatment for children and adolescents within a caring, Christian environment. Our comprehensive services include individual and family therapy, specialized education services, group therapy, activity therapy, nursing and psychiatric services. There is a coordinated team approach to each individual’s treatment which includes their therapist, the home supervisor, their goal worker (works 1:1 with the client), education specialist, wellness specialist, nurse and psychiatrist. This occurs through daily communication logs and bi-weekly meetings.
The general treatment model follows a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach with a strong trauma focus. Specialized treatment can include components of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reintegration), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), or TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Classes are available to teach independent living skills. There are opportunities for employment training depending on age and length of stay. Voluntary spiritual development is offered. Youth may participate in summer camps and they have opportunities to participate in Young Life youth group and camp. Youth can be involved in community volunteer activities. Families are encouraged to actively participate in treatment and other program activities.
