How You Can Help: Success Stories
Turning Point: Resident Shares Story of Hope
Published with permission from “Cheryl,” a teen in Wedgwood’s residential program.
Before coming to Wedgwood, I was on the run. For two years, I lived on the streets and scrounged for food and shelter each day. I did not see my parents during that entire time. Since coming to Wedgwood, I have begun to see my parents a bit and talk with them. Recently, my dad surprised me by coming to the Christmas program. I was so excited to see him there! Wedgwood has really been a gift for me. I have food and shelter and safety every night. I know that God is working a miracle in my life. He must have something pretty big in mind for me! I continue to struggle, but I am relieved to have a place to call “home” for a while. But the best gift is to know that I have a home with God.
